SATTAHIP: -- A construction worker desperate for money to purchase Thai Whisky broke into the home of a 74 year old woman and, at knife-point, stole her gold necklace. Police were called to the house of Khun Wimon who had sustained bruising to the neck and chest area. She explained that on Tuesday afternoon, she went to sleep for a time and woke up and was confronted by Khun Sutat aged 44 who was hiding inside the toilet. He allegedly grabbed Khun Wimon and placed his arm around her neck and at knife-point demanded she hand over her Gold necklace. He then ran out and is known to have pawned the necklace at a nearby Gold Shop and received 20,000 Baht in cash for it. With the proceeds he purchased a new mobile phone and a bottle of whisky. Police were able to track-down the suspect who confessed to the crime
