Youtube Problems Since Site Updated....

Both on my account and my eldest sons account when we try to log in with our names, the account just defaults to our email addresses from gmail.....

I hadn't opened an account with the email address.....

Exactly same for my son...

Have tried using another guys laptop never used by me, and clearing cache etc but no joy.....

Its took me more than a few years to build the music base and I just cant access it...

Any suggestions ??

Ive looking into deleting the gmail account but its telling me I will delete any existing youtube account ?

Must be others having same issue ??

I should have pointed out that my sign in name for youtube, is identical to the first part of my gmail address ??

I suspect this may be the problem ??

Google bought YouTube, and they integrated the gmail accounts to log into YouTube.

As an example my youtube name is Cobblers.

My email address is [email protected]

When I pull the youtube site the option advises enter youtube name or email address.

I enter just Cobblers, but the log in automatically reverts to [email protected] soon as I enter password ?? The passwords are different ??

Problem sorted but have had to disable gmail address....

Without being able to revert I am able to log in normally now.
