I am taking 2 trips out of Thailand. I will need 2 re-entry permits. The end of the 1st trip and the beginning of the 2nd trip are only 10 days apart so

can I get 2 separate re-entry permits at the same time so I don't have to go to Immigration twice?

I suspect this is not available but can you get "one" re-entry permit stamp that is good for 2 re-entries and pay 1000B per re-entry?

I don't want a multiple re-entry permit.

Not trying to be pedantic, but just to be clear, do you mean multiple-entry visa or a multiple-entry re-entry permit?

Your suspicions were correct.

I dropped by to the CM Immigration and asked about getting 2 back to back single re-entry permits and the answer was "mai dai, mai dai". Oh well.... At least the office is easy for me to get to.

That is not the equivalent of a one year extension (if you are actually talking about staying in Thailand) - it could only be multi entry non immigrant O visa for 90 day stays and I am sure it cost considerably more than $65 (which would be the price of a single 90 day stay). Or were you talking about a one year stay in China? Your post is unclear on that point.

They use different naming conventions but effectively, it is an internally acquired permission to stay for 1 year based on marriage to a Chinese with multiple re-entry for only 400RMB or about $65. Hope that clears it up.
