Report Foreign Earnings Taxed Under New Thai Rules - But With Exceptions
It doesn't say exclusively Thais and later says "This rule applies to persons who stay in Thailand for 180 days or more and have foreign income." Maybe if you aren't a person then it won't apply. But I just think this being Thailand and the articles and the officials will first address how it will affect Thais. -

This issue poses significant risks for students, the elderly, and bedridden individuals who rely on the path daily. The problem area lies along a 300-metre stretch of Khlong Bang Krasor, leading to the Chao Phraya River. Locals have observed significant subsidence affecting the concrete embankment, which is now tilted about 45 degrees towards the canal. The earth supporting the path has sunken by 80 centimetres, causing nearby utility poles to lean perilously. Resident Saisunee Koetnak reported that while the walkway had been leaning for days, heavy rainfall on May 17 further damaged it, creating noticeable cracks. The cause of the subsidence and whether the embankment was adequately reinforced remains in question. According to Saisunee Songkhananakh, president of the Wat Noi Nok community, the embankment's tilt started after the earthquake, and further weakened by recent rains. An exact cause has yet to be identified. Amarin Kitchatham, acting director of Nonthaburi Municipality's Public Works Division, revealed that an engineering evaluation found around 30 metres of subsidence. Plans are underway to consult contractors on the subsidence causes, while warning signs will alert residents to avoid the hazardous path. In a bid to ensure public safety, the municipality intends to work with a local temple to establish an interim alternative route for residents. Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
Read the article again This looks like a tax free ( 18 month window ) for rich Thais to repatriate their money into Thailand before global taxation kicks in, in 2027. I think it is you, that should read the article again. Firstly, there is no mention at all of global taxation. Secondly, there is no distinction between Thai citizens and foreigners who reside in Thailand, as it relates to taxation. There is nothing in this article that suggest that is changing. Thirdly, there's nothing to suggest this is just an 18 month window. The principle refereed to is- foreign income remitted same year earned and year following is exempt. Quote below: "Under the new guidelines, Thais with foreign income will not be taxed if they remit that income in the year it was earned or the following year. For example, if income is earned in 2025 and brought into Thailand in 2025 or 2026, it is not subject to tax." -
