Chiang Mai Photographic Group Exhibition 2012

2nd Floor, Northern Village, CentralPlaza, Chiangmai Airport

January 14th – 29th 2012

The Chiang Mai Photographic Group will be holding their fourth annual exhibition at Central Plaza in January and invite you to enjoy a remarkably diverse collection featuring over 100 mounted pictures by 25 photographers from half a dozen countries.

This year’s exhibition will be opened by Ajarn Pongdej Chaiyakul, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University this Saturday, 14th January at 4:00pm and runs daily from 11:00 to 8:00pm through to 6:00pm on Sunday January 29th. The show is situated at the end of the building where the aquarium is but two floors up.

Our previous exhibitions have met with critical acclaim and this year’s will feature an even greater selection of unusual and challenging photographs, so we hope you can drop by if you are in town.

Thanks, one of our members designed it and we have seven different versions. The quality of the digital printing machines these days is nothing short of amazing and allows you to make endless variations with almost no extra effort.

State of the art office printing when I started out was on Gestetner machines where you typed onto a stencil and had to correct mistakes with pink correction fluid. I just looked them up to check the spelling and found to my surprise that they look as if they are still going strong, unlike Kodak which sounds like it's in terminal decline having failed to appreciate just how quickly the market for their traditional products could dry up. Chapter 11 looms by all accounts....

Here's another poster to whet your appitite.

The posters are very tastefully done. When I ask if they would like one (or more) to place in their business, there is no hesitation from the shopkeepers. I was only told "no" one time. It was at a gym. Even though I wasn't attempting to "sell" anything, I was informed that only members could post on the wall near the entrance that they had allocated for ads. That particular gym is now out of business. A pity.
