60 Day Extension

Featured Replies

Hi

I have had a 60 day extension on the basis of visiting my wife I then got a 1 year extension again based of staying with my wife I have mucked up a bit with some documents and I am not sure if I will get them in time to extend my visa for another year so can I get a 60 day extension based on visiting my child so that will give me another 60 days to get the required documents to then extend my visa for 1 year.

Thank you

You can try but have seen reports of refusal after having another type of extension.

Know of cases where immigration have granted the 60 day 'Visiting Spouse' extension following on a one year 'Thai Spouse' extension.

777/2551 Case 2.24 states that :

Permission will be granted for a period not more than 60 days at a time

Definitely worth a try for another 60 Day 'Visting Wife' extension - arguably a second extension is now possible since it would not be 'back to back' (i.e. more than one time) even though there have not been any fresh border entries since the previous 60 day extension.

All of course depends on how the Local Immigration Dept/Thai Immigration Officer on the day interperets the 'at a time' meaning, as appies to individual circumstances.

Hopefully if 60 days is awarded again then the OP will have sufficient time to get the paperwork muddle sorted and then apply for a new one year 'Thai Spouse' extension.
