The rented Honda Click Phuket City Police believe was used by the assassins to carry out the hit.

PHUKET: Phuket Police have issued an arrest warrant for one of two men wanted for the assassination of investigative reporter Wisut 'Ae Inside' Tangwitthayaporn on Thursday.

The police name the suspect as Noppadon "Pae" Praisri, 43, from Phetchburi province.

The arrest warrant, issued on January 12, names Mr Noppadon as wanted for conspiracy to commit premeditated murder.

The warrant was issued after witnesses were able to provide police with the license plate number of the motorcycle used by the two men.

Subsequent investigation revealed that it was rented out to Mr Noppadol by a company in Patong.

The bike was later discovered in a swampy area in Rassada, not far from where the assassination was carried out.

It appeared to have been given a crude paint job to change its appearance from orange-and-white to orange-and-brown before the hit was carried out.

Phuket Police are under intense pressure to not only catch the assassins, but also to bring to justice those who hired them as well.

The pressure was on the Police to solve this one.

Have to wonder about the intelligence of the perpetrator. Hires the bike in his own name, crudely tries to disguise it, then dumps it in a swampy area where it was quickly found. Tracable straight back to himself.

Hope they catch him, his mate and the money man.

PHUKET: -- The first suspect wanted in connection with the shooting murder of Phuket reporter Wisut “Ae Inside” Tangwitthayaporn last Thursday has been arrested and is set to appear at a police press conference today.

An arrest warrant for the suspect, 43-year-old Petchburi native Noppadon “Pae” Praisri, was approved by Phuket Provincial Court on Saturday.

The exact time and details of the arrest will be announced at Phuket City Police Station today.

As this report was being prepared, police investigators were still searching for the alleged murder weapon, a 9mm gun, in a pond off the bypass road in Rassada.

Police believe Mr Noppadon was the gunman in the killing, while another suspect still at large operated the motorbike and tracked Mr Wisut in the minutes before his assassination.

Police hope the arrest and subsequent questioning of Mr Noppadon will be the key to unlocking the mystery behind killing, which many believe was related to Mr Wisut’s work in exposing illegal issuance of land title deeds through his journal Inside Phuket.

lol! couldnt just light that bike on fire and bank on thai foresensic not being good enough to find them? Or take the liscence plate, mail it to a fake chiang mai address and leave it rotting inside a package at the postoffice forever.

Police have such an easy job here, all they need is an IQ above 90 and they can solve any murder as long as someone pays

Phuket 'Ae Inside' murder: Thai media reports police closing in on killers

Phuket Gazette

phuket-1-12054ZwthLmePKOrNPKfaJsDOpknmBT.jpg

Noppadol “Pae” Praisri was under heavy guard throughout the day yesterday, when he took part in crime re-enactments at four locations in Rassada and one in Phuket Town.

PHUKET: -- Phuket Police appear to be closing in on the person who ordered the killing of Phuket investigative reporter Wisut “Ae Inside” Tangwitthayaporn, according to reports in the Thai-language media.

Following yesterday’s re-enactment of the crime with the confessed driver of the gunman, police say they have gathered enough evidence to apply for arrest warrants for alleged gunman Sanya Klinchum, 41, as well as a man identified only as “Mr Boy”. Both men were involved in a similar case in 2008.

Mr Boy allegedly paid driver Noppadol “Pae” Praisri 50,000 baht for his role in the crime before disappearing. The transaction was carried out in a location near Nimit Circle in Phuket Town, the last stop on yesterday’s five-stop re-enactment tour.

The investigation team includes top investigators from Phuket City Police, Phuket Provincial Police and Police Region 8 in Surat Thani.

Police have dismissed that the motive for the assassination is related to Mr Wisut’s reporting of alleged impropriety in the issuance of land title deeds at Freedom Beach in Patong or in the Nakalay hillsides of Kamala.

They have also dismissed his reporting on the controversial transfer of government officers as another possible motive, saying only that the likely motive was “a personal dispute”.

Investigators hope that the eventual arrest of the gunman and his paymaster will provide enough evidence to apply for an arrest warrant for the person who ordered the killing.

According to today’s edition of Thai-language newspaper Siangtai Daily, police hope to apply for an arrest warrant for a man identified only as “Somkhuan”, the person they suspect hired and paid the assassins.

Well in a country where to kill someone cost as little as 10,000 baht ,there are little chances to find the "boss" of that crime . One more time they have a suspect and sometime its more than enough. I doubt about the happy ending of that story ..... what a shame !

so they have dismissed it as being related to anyone in power, a position of authority, or anyone wealthy... no wonder they are "top investigators from Phuket City Police, Phuket Provincial Police and Police Region 8 in Surat Thani."
