Applying For Thai Double Entry Visa In Kula Lumpur

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I am an aussie currently in Thailand on the standard 30 day tourist visa. I have booked a flight to KL for 5th Feb and wanted to know what documents and proof of travel I require. I have scoured the internet and various sites and forums, but the info is a little confusing and inconsistent. (Hence why I started a new topic)...Also the site for www.thaiembassy.org/kualalumpur/ - seems unable to load. I have sent an email to and embassy address and have not received a response. I am hoping that someone has done this visa run before me. So just to be clear a double entry tourist visa for thailand. Applying in Kula Lumpur.

Regards

Do not believe KL has a dedicated website. Suspect that is an MFA site and as MFA is down (has has been normal for last several weeks) that site is also down. Not sure KL what they may require but be advise many local Consulates will not provide 2 entry tourist visas without specific travel reasons.

It's confusing and inconsistent because there are dozens of different circumstances which affect different people... For example if you've already got half a dozen back to back visas in your passport your treatment at any consulate may vary.

In your case from the info you've provided, it sounds like you wouldn't have too much difficulty in KL. Whether they'll give you a double or a single is a bit of a grey area. It's unlikely they wouldn't give you at least a single. In theory all you should need is to hand over your passport with the application and fee, and pick it up the following day. In practise you may be asked for more - such as an onward ticket to anywhere. The chances of being asked for anything out of the ordinary are slim.

I have no personal experience of KL, my next visa will likely be from back home in UK if things go according to plan. But I do follow this forum with interest, one can never have too much information...
