Situation ....Received a single entry Non-Imm O visa in Brisbane Australia in December 2011.

Arrived Bangkok 7 Dec 2011 and duly stamped in until 5 March 2012.

After 5 consecutive extensions based on marriage I spent 18 months outside of Thailand.

Multiple trips back, but always on 30 day 'permission to stay"

Now back for good and I am in the position of being able to apply for an extension based on Retirement.

I have maintained my Thai bank account above the required 800K for the last 5 months. Funds deposited from Australia.

My local Immigration office is in Korat. I will be visiting friends there this week.

Is there ANY reason why I can NOT apply for an extension to my Non-Imm O visa this early ????

Most offices will process a little early if you have a good reason. IE travelling.

You will have to ask them.

i think you will need to have a convincing story about traveling - obviously within Thailand as you have a single entry...

And they wouldn't do mine today either

All was going along fine with the work experience (?) girls at the entrance counter until they saw I was 14 days early. As in 14 days prior to the last 30 days of my Non-Imm O.

I did manage to get to talk to the "Information" Officer, but to no avail. My stories of travel and woe fell on deaf ears

So its back to Khorat in 2 weeks time. Good day out though
