30 Day Visa On Arrival

Featured Replies

Hello i wonder if someone can help me,

I would like to know how many days i will have left with the 30 days on arrival visa, with this trip planned.

8 days in Thailand then staying in Laos for 3 days, we will be leaving by land.

is it 15 days 19 days or 34 days

Any help would be very appreciated!

Thankyou

When you return to Thailand by land you will get 15 days, if by air another 30 days.

If you want you can get a re-entry permit for 1,000 baht. This means your original 30 days remain intact when you return to Thailand. But it does not give you any extra days, so the 3 days in laos you will have lost.

It means that if you arrive in Thailand on March 1 by air, you get a permission to stay of 30 days. (Till March 30) If you buy a re-entry permit and leave for Laos for 3 days, upon re-entry to Thailand you will still be allowed to stay till March 30, even if you return by land

What is best for you depends on how long you want to stay in Thailand after returning from Laos.

I presume you mean visa exempt entry, as with a visa on arriva you only get 15 days if arriving by air or land.

Thanks very much for all the useful information .

We are staying for 38 days in total so think it would make more sense and be more economical if we visit Laos towards the end of our trip.

Thanks again

Without a Visa or an onward air ticket within 30 days you risk not being allowed on the flight to Bangkok.
