February 3, 201214 yr Get your blue book translated at your local DLT- they'll convert the Thai characters on your license plate to roman numerals / letters and issue some documents. It's really cheap. Thai Drivers liscense is valid throughout ASEAN. You will need to purchase insurance after you enter Malaysia. Understand it's easy to find at Sadao. Less easy at some other crossing points.
