Thai Wife, Us Kids Can Travel To China?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am U.S. citizen with Thai wife and two u.s. citizen kids, and we live in US usually and have no assets here in Thailand, where we are now. I am travelling to china and getting my visa now, and she and the kids may apply for a tourist visa later, to go from Thailand to China.

Do you anticipate any problem with Thai woman and her two U.S. children applying for chinese visas together, without me?

My wife is a US greencard resident. she has no job in thailand and not much money. we use our u.s. bank account and my u.s. monthly income to support ourselves here for a long visit here in Thailand.

So, if they ask her to show money in thai bank account, letters from employers, etc. she has none of that. She only has maybe $4000 dollars in our joint bank account on a good day. We live off my salary, which is paid to me and deposited in our bank account in the u.s..

Do you know how much money she might need to show, if it has to be in a Thai bank, and if our small savings of 4K in a joint account will swing it? Or what do they ask of Thai citizens to get a visa?

I was going to stay china a couple months, check it out, and they might join me later.

Applying for a visa together is very costly, and they might not come, so I wanted them to apply later, if necessary.

Thanks!

S.
