webfact
Facebook now forces their timeline on everyone Whether you like it or not, very soon Facebook Timeline will be mandatory for all. “Over the next few weeks, everyone will get timeline. When you get timeline, you’ll have 7 days to preview what’s there now. This gives you a chance to add or hide whatever you want before anyone else sees it.” Full story: http://www.nettechbl...ne-on-everyone/ -- nettechblog.com 2012-01-26
villagefarang
I knew it was coming so got started early. Been using it for a while now and quite like it. As with the changes to this forum, some people are allergic to change of any kind. Sadly for them, we live in a world of change.

jybkk
A quick Google search will tell you how to block Timeline. This won't work anymore once they push it to everyone as announced. What people fail to understand is that Timeline is only a layout change. As usually, there's going to be the wave of "OMG BRING TEH OLD FACEBOOK BACK!!!" but that won't matter much. Instead of stacked on one pile, posts are stacked on 2 piles, and instead of having to scroll for hours to view older posts, you just click on the date and months and you can have a look. That's it. The rest (notably privacy) is the same.

lothda
The instructions for disabling Timeline are here. (This is NOT the opt-out for people who opted in early - which won't work anymore after full implementation.)

SantiSuk
I'm a luddite who prefers to remain as a private individual, so it won't affect me. [Whoa how can I say that after 1,500 postings on this dam_n TV thing?!! Edit: - jeez it's 2329. I really must get a life] Edited January 26, 2012 by SantiSuk
happysanook
timeline being forced has been talked about for a couple of months with still nothing official from facebook...I don't doubt it will happen though, as once u switch, u can't revert without 3rd party scripts. anyways, will be moving to G+ if timeline is forced. it's a far better setup regardless of timeline. samuidreams
I will be deactivating my account when the timeline becomes mandatory. I don't like how the privacy settings change all the time.
