January 29, 201214 yr So I've been doing my best to learn Thai over the last few months, but I need some help with this little quote/proverb/phrase that I came up with. The English version would be "Finding comfort in discomfort," but I want to play on the Thai word sabai and the whole culture behind it; it being used as comfort and in "tam sabai" and in just general "I'm-fine"-sabai. So the phrase would span several meanings — feeling comfortable in discomfort, feeling okay/fine and not distressed in hard situations, etc. That kind of thing. And in a nice short, snippy package. It seems simple but it's something I've been making a conscious effort to integrate into my life, and holds quite a bit of importance. Something I've kind of created, though have no idea how plausible/understandable it is, is (in my best phonetics) Yoo kwahm mai sabai, pen sabai. I kind of stole the phrasing off "yoo yen, pen sook," but I was hoping for something short and meaningful. Please tell me what an awful ridiculous job I'm doing and feel free to help me come up with something. Thanks!
