January 29, 201214 yr Hi everyone, Plan to invest on rubber farm land in trad province . Please advise me. Thanks much Mark..
January 29, 201214 yr As you probably know you will never own the land. it takes about 5 years before you see any money returns if you start from new. it depends on what returns you want and how long.
January 29, 201214 yr Lots of people getting into the rubber biz. What will the price be when all these new plantations mature I wonder?
January 29, 201214 yr I would advise you to head over to the farming forum (perhaps the mods could move this there). Read all the posts to do with farming, especially anything written by James Collister. Do you actually know anything about farming, never mind rubber farming? Who or what has pushed you in this direction? How much do you think you will make per rai per year? How many rai do you think you will need? Who will run it and manage it? Where will your tappers come from and how will profits be split? Will you be living here full time or leaving it for "the family" to run? What type of paperwork does this land have? Are you aware of the costs of some of this land? Figures of over 300k per rai are not uncommon. Is the land already being used, if so what type of trees are on it? Are you starting from scratch, do you know how long it could take before the trees start producing? How long do you think it will take to start to make a profit, never mind break even? Are you rich enough to afford a hobby and be a gentleman farmer, can you trust the people involved? If you have a spare 30 million baht, go for it.
