Hi

I have a question concerning the yearly Bank Statement of my account.

I'm marriage and living here 6 years, until now i showed my Bank Account Statement, which for Thai Marriage persons

should be Bth 400,000.

Up this years i will receive my Pension, which should cover this amount, the question is if Inmigration still wants to see this amount in Bank , or is enough to show my Pension documents, naturally this must be confirmed by the Embassy.

In case this amount wont cover this amout required by the time i have to renew (would be in October 2012) and i received my Pension starting April 2012, would be this enough, or there is a problem?

Thank you for your answer

If you are going to use the monthly income method, you have to get an "income affidavit" from your Embassy. For marriage, the requirement is 40000 baht/month and retirement is 65000 baht/month. You do not have to have any amount in a Thai bank. Depending on what country you are from you might need proof for the Embassy to generate the letter, and immigration might require proof in addition to the letter. Since your pension starts in April 2012 there is no problem.

If you qualify, 65000 baht/month, and are not working, the retirement extension is easier.

As said, if your income qualifies you don't need to show a bank letter.

Do take your bankbook with you. Sometimes they want to see it, just to confirm that you have money to spend. But it is not necesarry to get a bank letter for that or to show a certain minimum ammount in the bank.

hi wayned

so what happen if i don't get exactly 40000 bth/month, i must show the difference in the bank book.

i mean with the difference to 400000 bth /year, which would for example, suppose i get 30000 bth/month ,

so it's a 120000 bth in the bank book to show?

I think that you can only use the combination method for a retirement extension, not marriage. Someone will be along soon to correct me if I am wrong.
