I am aware that they ask for a years rental agreement at Birmigham now and they will issue a 1 year multi 'O' class.

My question is... Does that rental agreement have to be for the year you are applying?

In more details, I have been staying at the same place for three years, so I have a rental agreement that is now an open agreement, but the it states that the contract is for a year (2009)

Can I show this and maybe proof that I still live there like a current bill? or should I seek a new contract agreement?

Has anyone experience in this? I know I can always call direct to the consulate but I thought I would try for advice here first.

I am not aware of any such current provision for visa issue.

I thought these types were phased out again.

be aware also that Birmingham now require proof of earnings the same as Hull (never heard of a rental agreement) easiest thing is to go on their site and read the rules

so if you are not over 50 or cannot show 900 quid per month earnings or cash equivelant then you will not get a Multiple Type O from either Birmingham or Hull
