I will arrive back in Thailand after a few months back in UK, my current non O will expire a few days after I arrive so I dont want to be stamped in for only a few days. Will immigration allow me to choose to have a 30 day visa on arrival? i reckon it's no probs but anyone know for sure please?

If your Non-o is valid when you enter the country then you will be given a full 90-days. The expiration date is the date you have to enter before or it will expire.

I didnt think that was the case with the one year non-O visas, as i understand it they run out on the day they expire although I may be wrong.

I have had multiple multi-entry 1 year cat-o visas and I can tell you that if you enter before they expire you will get 90 day. You can also still go to immigration and apply for extension of stay before your 90-days is up , provided you meet the requirements.
