Hi,

I'm about to finish my year's contract with my school, and will likely stay there again next year, rather than move to another school.

Can I just get another 1 year extension on my existing visa by showing them the new contract etc?

Or do I need to go back to Lao, and apply for a new Non Immigrant "B" Visa

Likewise, is it the same deal with my work permit?

Cool thanks, and I assume that I need both completed prior to my existing extension / work permit expiry?

Will they then stamp my extension from the date my next contract ends? Or 1 year from the date I submit the application?

You best apply for the work permit a few weeks before the current one expires and once the work permit is extended visit immigration for your extension of stay.

Both extensions will start from the date your current wp/permission to stay end, so going early doesn't mean losing any days.
