Ricardo
Reportedly he is coming around to her place tonight with a couple of bottles of Johnny Walker Black. Purely medicinal, of course ! But wait, Sir Les Patterson must be nearing retirement-age, couldn't we be seeing the next Cultural-Attache to the Court of St James, here in our own backyard ? PoodMaiDai
What are defamation laws in Thailand other than Lese Majeste for the common man. Make that the common rich man. Ridiculous to consider reform of one and not the other. The wealthier you are, the less people can say about you and the more you get away with. It's a glorious system they have set up for themselves here.
martin81
A so called virus of the ear balance system can make you lose balance. I have tried that myself. If you really have it bad you cannot even walk but only crawl. Anti motion sickness medicine may help some. But I think Chalerm only made that up. maeab
Yingluck Refuses to Comment on Chalerm Being Drunk During Parliamentary Debate BANGKOK: -- The prime minister has declined to comment on allegations that a deputy prime minister was drunk during the charter amendment debate, as she has not talked to the deputy prime minister yet. Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra refused to comment regarding Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung's being drunk during parliament's charter amendment debate, at which he showed inappropriate behavior as well as during the consideration of the draft amendments to the constitution. Meanwhile, Democrat MPs have investigated the trash bin and found a large number of empty liquor and soda water bottles, so that they will propose that the House committee on ethics investigate the matter. Yingluck said that she has yet to talk to Chalerm about the allegations. However, she said that everyone must respect the parliament's regulations. She added that the opposition has the right to examine Chalerm. Democrat party list MP Boonyod Sukthinthai disclosed that a large number of empty liquor and soda water bottles have been found in the parliament’s garbage disposal area. There were 20 bottles of soda water and alcholic beverages. The manager of the Parliament’s canteen confirmed that no alcoholic beverages are sold on the premises, leading Boonyod to believe that some MPs must be drinking alcohol during the interim of the meeting. The opposition whip will discuss this matter and they will propose that the House Committee on Ethics investigate the matter and determine whether Charlerm will face further dispensary action. -- Tan Network 2012-02-27 The previous topic with "Rangsima wants alcohol tests ..." had "Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra reportedly called a meeting with Chalerm after being informed that the House session was briefly suspended due to the allegation of drunkenness." Now the PM didn't have the time yet to talk with her Dept. PM. Reportedly that is Reportedly he is coming around to her place tonight with a couple of bottles of Johnny Walker Black. arrowsdawdle
Another winner for freedom of speech! I'll drink to that! For all the legal eagles on the forum, where do the papers stand, when they are quoting what was said in a parlimentary sitting (comments by Democrat MP Rangsima)? It would seem to be easy money for MP's to just get pissed up and wait for someone to comment on their actions before filing defamation suits against the newspapers picking up the story. Notice there is no suit against the politicians as yet. It is illogical and incomprehensible how he could sue newspapers for reporting what others have said, especially for quoting public officials. Surprising if any judge will let this into court, especially when he is not suing the individuals that actually said what the newspapers only reported. Libel and slander culpability belong to the originators, the accusers. One way around this is to simply ask if he is drunk. Asking a legitimate question need not fall to the level of accusation. sirchai
If it wasn;t proven that he was drunk, ie, no blood test or urine sample given, is it not now a "his word against her word" scenario? gemini81
The newspapers simply reported what was part of the public record from parliament. How can this be defamation from the newspapers point of view? Bullying comes to mind . Of course it is bullying, but how on earth can anyone claim that there is a right to sue the newspapers for defamation?????????? These types of laws that exist here annoy the hell out of me, because they actively serve to keep the status quo to the detriment of society at large, but NO political party of any political persuasion will EVER change them. Why I can guess, but is there NO ONE who cares about making the system better in this country? Chalerm is just following in the foot steps of his dear leader. Thaksin sues Democrat, three newspapers Published on June 14, 2006 In the civil lawsuit, Thaksin also named the three papers as legal entities as co-defendants and demanded the eight defendants to jointly pay him Bt800 million as compensations for the damages to his reputation. silent
How bad must the situation be for the democrats if they have to sniff through his houses' garbage? Admittedly, he often gives a drunk impression, but really: with a dude like Chalerm, aren't there much worse things to find than a few bottles of alcohol? Hmm. Surprised nobody thought to send the bottles to a Forensic lab.

If only Linford could show them his package... Oh! and yet they do display their packages. They publicly display their money packages from licit proceeds, of course, and believe nobody sees through them. His behaviour is certainly far more restrained and proper than some of the Democrat speakers. Note how he has kept his hands clasped. Oh dear.... a dastardly trashy act... Apaprently, you have no regard for the concept of an illegal search or in protecting evidence.. How do you know that the material alleged to have been found in the trash was even the DPM's refuse? How do you know the bottles were not planted? The correct action would have been to verify the contentts of the trash with a representative of the Speaker's office. Where were the witnesses that saw the DPM or his employees put this in the trash. How would you feel if someone found some yaba in your trash that was in an accessible area and then acused you of having yaba? How about kiddie porn? Would it be appropriate to condemn you and demand immediate action even though there was no evidence that the material belonged to you? Would you be guilty of posessing the material because it was found in your trash, even though it was the guy from across the soi that put it there?
