What To Do For The Best!

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have a mutil 0 visa which is stamped valid until 22nd August of this year...

However my passport expires 13th February 2013 next year ( so less than 6 months remaining on passport if I was to do a border run and re-enter Thailand after 13th August of this year)

Am I best to just do a visa run on the 12th August and get another 90 days? then when I leave Thailand to return to uk at start of November I would only have 3 months remaining in my passport, is this ok? I will then get a new passport in UK.

I really want to stretch my stay here out as long as possible this time.

Regards Rich

For entry into Thailand your passport must be valid for the duration of your intended stay. So after your final border run in Aug. your passport will still be valid for entry into Thailand. (But maybe not for entry into a third country, that depends on the rules for that country).

Leaving for the UK will not be a problem, you can even return on an expired passport. So getting a new passport in the UK will be OK.

Just cheked. Cambodia requires a passport validity of 4 months, so will be fine. Laos, Myanmar and Malaysia require 6 month and might be a problem.
