A friend of mine has recently passed away and he didn't marry his girl friend. They have been together for about 7 years and ran a successful business here together. My friend's body is lying in a mortuary in Bangkok and cannot be released to his girl friend because she is not a legal next of kin. His daughter in the UK is unable to come over to Thailand for the funeral but is happy for his girl friend to arrange things. My question is, what documents will she need from my friend's daughter in order to satisfy the mortuary, police etc etc in Bangkok. Has anyone been down this road please. It's been about a week since my friend passed away and we would like to get things moving so that he can have a proper funeral service.

As you mention his daughter is in UK, contact the desceases embassey and they will guide you thru the process. Have contact info for the daughter as she will be contacted for permission, etc.
