So, I did a quick return by air to KL, and obtained another 30 days visa exempt stamp.

I now intend to extend that, with the permissable 7 day extension, for 1900 baht.

Small problem Is, that I got my sums slightly askew, and I believe that extension will come up short 1 or 2 days short of my final flight out of Thailand.

I can't change the ticket again,

Is it possible to show the ticket at the immigration office and ask for a little leeway for extension to cover the extra day or 2,

Or if it's a firm 7 day only, and if I then turn up 1 or 2 days late at airport, will they just treat me as a usual overstayer and fine me 500/1000baht,

Or, can they take a dim view of overstaying an extension (even though a slight one) and cause possible problems??

They will not provide more than 7 days and they may not even provide that without a ticket out within that time period - why not make a border run for 15 day visa exempt entry and stay legal? Should cost about the same from most places.

Sorry to harp on about this, but on a 2nd perusal I think I may be ok, could you please just confirm or not...

My visa exempt stamp, is stamped as must leave on 30th March ( A Friday)

My air ticket out of BKK is for 6th April (The following Friday)

So really, a 7 day extension would do the trick yes? or no? I can show the ticket for outbouns on the 6th

If I went in a couple days before, for comfort would they add the 7 day extension from THAT day, or from the 30th when visa exempt ends

If the former, is it ok to go into the immigration, with ticket, on the very last day (when I should be flying), to get the extra 7 days, or is that a risk ??

The 7 days start on the day you apply.

So if you went on 30th March I am not to sure if day one is 30th or 31st.

As said above you would have to apply on Friday and you should be departing on Thursday to be safe - so I would strongly advise a border crossing/return for 15 days some time that week rather than banking on a 7 day extension of stay.
