Valid Visa In Old Passport

The passport was renewed for lack of pages even though both the passport and visa are still valid. Can one travel with the old passport having the valid visa for Thailand and present both the old and new passport at immigration ? Or is it required to apply for a visa transfer to the new passport or apply for a visa all afresh ? Pls clarify.

Are you sure both passports are valid? A replacement passport makes the old one invalid for any country that I know of. If you indeed have two valid passports rather than a replacement suspect the visa is only valid for the passport it is issued in. And no visa can ever be transferred into another passport.

I think you mean you got a new passport because the old one, with the valid visa, was full.

In that case it you indeed just present both old an new passport. Just make sure the visa page is not made invalid.

Thanks for the clarification and prompt response. You are right, the old passport was full and hence renewed even though valid for a few more years. Of course, right now that passport is cancelled and new one issued.
