1St Time In Vientiane

Featured Replies

Hi

I got my last non O visa from hull based on married to thai/ supporting my child.

I have just found out that I can not get a multiple non O in vientiane!

Can I just clarify whats docs I need to submit to get a single entry non O in vientiane?

copy marriage certificate x2

copy birth certificate son x2

copy wife ID/ passport (will passport be ok) x2

my passport

x2 passport photo of me

If there is anything else or any advice anyone can give me that would be great

Thanks

If you are married take normal marriage certificate/birth certificate/wife ID card and home register copy to Savannakhet. They have been issuing multi entry non immigrant O visas without need for financials from current reporting.

Same should get single entry anywhere.

Hi,

im a little confused by this myself, i am in the same position, i live near laos, i am married to a thai with a daughter to her. Ok, saying i leave uk with a multiple non (o) visa this should do me for 1 year plus an extra 3 months (15 months all in) when this visa is up for renewal can i take all my papers to ventienne and get another non (0) visa to do me for a further 15 months? i was under the impression i had to return to uk to apply again in hull for a non (0).

sorry for the confusion, if anyone can tell me the best way to enable me to live in thailand without having to pay to go back to uk every year and half i would appreciate this advice very much, btw i can show 400,000 baht in my bank account every year though i do not have an income as yet of 40,000 baht per month.

thanks in advance , sorry to hijack this thread but i think im in exactly the same position as the op.

Vientiane might only give a single, savankhet seems to give multiple non-O's if you have all your paperwork in order.

In that case have above 400k for first two months of your 12-15 month on current entry visas and then apply for one year extension of stay at your local immigration office. Unless you have frequent travel/work requirements outside of Thailand the extension of stay would be most peoples choice.

I had a multiple entry non-immigration type O from Hull, UK.

When it expired could I have got another one or extended it from Laos?

If it expired over a year ago could I get a new one from Laos?

I didn't get the visa because of retirement of relationship with a Thai person if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

Not sure I understand, what qualifies you for a Non-Immigrant "O" Visa, marriage, retirement?

Short answer - no - and Hull will likely no longer issue either unless issued for NGO type work.

Thanks. I will give it another try when I back in England in a few months. In the past I got one from Brum and then one from Hull the following year (or might have been other way around).

If i get rejected by one (Hull or Brum) can I apply at the other the following week?

As you have not stated on what basis the visa was issued can only say things are much tighter and the GF visa issue type requests are not accepted anymore if that was the previous basis.
