euroflash
Hi all Does anyone know of a place called Ao Sane (if that is the correct English spelling), supposedly on the southern-most part of the island. Is it a really small place or a lot of tourists? Thanks...

khall64au
Just heard on the grapevine that Ao Sane beach will soon be closed to public access and developed into luxury accommodation. Another locals beach closed off for the pleasure of a wealthy few...... END OF AN ERA!!!!
LadyinRed
This is sad news indeed.
tom yum goong
this private beach nonsense really gets on my tits. All beaches in Thailand are supposed to be public property and i'm sick of these luxury hotels and developments who buy all the beachfront land close off public access. Can we get a protest going? Sir Burr
Can we get a protest going? Nope. It's perfectly legal. They can't stop you going by boat though.

We went there for a day out when the Mrs' family visited over Xmas and it really is a nice beach. The snorkling is great (saw lobsters!)
khall64au
Apparently, public can still use the beach if they dine at 5-star prices!!!
Laurie
Is it the one where you literally have to drive through Le Meridien? or is that one Jungle Beach
