I'd like info as well. My 6-year-old is taking Tae Kwon Do here in the states, and she really enjoys it. We are moving to Chiang Mai in September, and I'd love for her to be able to continue (even if it means switching to a different style like Judo or whatever). Cost is a big issue for us; currently we pay 50USD/month for unlimited training (she can attend any of the classes that are offered).

As far as I know there is just one karate group in town. You can find their website easily by entering "karate" and "chiang mai" in your favorite search engine.

Tae Kwon Do is very popular in Thailand, including Chiang Mai. If you want your child to continue you can just look around Chiang Mai when you get here. It isn't as easy as looking in "the yellow pages" in some countries. There are a lot of TKD schools in Chiang Mai.

As far as I know, we have the only karate dojo in Chiang Mai at the present time. There is judo and aikido, but very limited. I know of only one judo and one aikido. There are karate schools in Bangkok and nearby, but not as many as TKD schools.

If you would like to know about karate you can PM me. I don't want to violate any forum rules by posting our web site address on the forum.
