Compare and contrast with Red Shirt supporters.

That is very simple, most people on here who think using their brains and not their hearts want justice to be applied evenly to all miscreants, irrespective of their political leanings.

And of course according to the severity of the offense.

Some people try very, very hard to claim both the Yellow and Red Shirts used the same level of violence in their protests.

Actually, I am waiting for Ozmick...

Sorry for keeping you waiting, I have a life. He obviously came back to recoup his money, and in the expectation that the current administration will do everything possible to get him off - after all quite a few of its members face the same charges, including the puppet-master in Dubai.

If (and even Chalerm will have problems with sweeping this one under the carpet) found guilty, he will obviously appeal, be granted bail and most likely abscond back to Cambodia, quite likely using his own passport, on a pilgrimage to kiss Hun Sen's butt. Dubai is a tad expensive for mercenary agitators down on their luck.

It will be interesting to see which of our forum Thaksin apologists openly come out of the woodwork to provide any shred of cover for Arisman.

Arisman is CalgaryII's hero:

I recall one incident during R'song, when coupist legislators were busy legislating coup stuff. UDD/Red shirts deemed one particular egregious piece of legislation as requiring confrontation. They sent a group of red Shirts to Parliament to do just that.

But their lack of success finally frustrated the Red Shirt leaders to the point they sent Arisman over. Within a very short timeframe, the Red Shirts were in the face of the coupist legislators.

Dam_n, he was effective, and explains why he is my hero.

During the recent confimation of Thida as the head of the UDD, Arisman's name came up as an alternative.

That would'ev put the 'cat amongst the pigeons"

These comments are so over the top into fantasy land it i

'cat amongst the pigeons"" More like 'the blind leading the dead'

and wondering why they are so hard to pull along.

Most organizations wouldn't even CONSIDER electing as their leader someone facing a string of serious legal charges. This is offset when you realise quite a few of the members of this group are already in jail, and most of those for following Arisman's orders in regard to burning down City Halls. Working from the bottom up the hierachy, with heavier penalties as the responsibility increases.

Hence my question. There are people on here trying to tell me there are PAD supporters in prison. If there are it appears to be that some justice is being handed out equally. If there are not there is reason to believe that justice is not/has not been applied in an unbiased way. If I had stated this or anyone else who is "seen to be on the other side" I would have been greeted with cries of liar, bending the truth etc. and I am unwilling to let this "arrangement" to go unchallenged. Simple really.

Read it as you like I am supporting a fundamental human right, not Arisman. Looking at some of the replies on this forum it seems like the right of being presumed innocent until proven guilty according to law is only to be applied selectively and these same people declare the red shirts as enemies of democracy - you're 'aving a larf.

Most of the places Arisman listed were more sensitive to the people of Thailand than the government.

You may also note that PAD members are going to jail for their actions. when Arisman joins them, we will quietly forget him also, hopefully for a couple of decades.

The good news is that when that happens, Dubai (more likely Cambodia) might get a few members of the government performing their function from afar.

PAD protesters are going to jail for their protests?

I think I missed the reports on the PAD convictions (for protests, not Sondi and his case on appeal for financial issues)

Amazing these red apologists claim to be so informed....:ermm:

On just one day alone, 79 PAD members were convicted and sent off to prison

The OP is about k. Arisman, a UDD leader who has been charged and freed on bail. It seems he asked and received permission to travel abroad, even being charged and bailed in three or four different cases. That's not automatic and why I wrote "being out on bail is not the same as being able to travel abroad". Anyway, legal system works. One may wonder though how k. Arisman managed to get a visa for India, but that's a different matter.

As for the Dem's MP charged with murder still being MP and attending parliament. Well, parliamentary immunity probably, like a few Pheu Thai party list MP and UDD leader figures like k. Nattawut, Jaruporn, Dr. weng. Politicians, different rules and regulations.

BTW being Dutch I speak Dutch with being a Dutch uncle and speaking double Dutch coming natural to me. Playing a fool I never managed successfully.

You could have fooled me, rudeness seems quite natural to you.

I'm not aware that "figures like k. Nattawut, Jaruporn, Dr. weng" have ever been charged with premeditated murder. Dress it as you like Abhisit tends to have skewed viewpoints on what is and what is not acceptable - presumably that is why he is no longer PM after being finally faced with public opinion.

Funny, I don't remember Abhisit charging any of these people with anything.

He was governing, the police and Attorney General deal with charging people for crimes.

But why let facts and logic get in the way of a good rant.

Before jumping to conclusions please read carefully. I didn't say anything about abhisit charging those people. I was talking about abhisits silence over having a democrat mp, charged with premeditated murder, sitting in parliament. But don't let a misreading get in the way of a good rant

Abhisit said referencing the Dem MP charged with murder,

if he is found guilty he should face justice.

But I guess you think THAT is a skewed viewpoint.

It is notable that more Dems charged with crimes, were encouraged

and DID VOLUNTARILY resigned their posts under Abhisit,

than under any of the Thaksin lead governments, or combined.

Same for most that think with their hearts compared to

those that think with their wallets most of the time.

Well this so called "un-informed red shirt apologist" used a brain and google

The court yesterday handed 82 members of the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) who invaded the state-run National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) station in August 2008 to jail sentences of up to two and a half years.

The 85 people, all of whom have been released temporarily on bail,

Don't you just hate it when a smart ass comment backfires................

And before you start trying to derail the post with comments about the numbers not tallying, 3 minors were included, but were handed 2 year suspended sentences.

Incidentally 13 leaders of the PAD still owe AOT 522 million baht for the seizure of the airports.

Ooh .... getting a little bit tetchy are we, as no one turned in to some, and that doesn't quite fit with your agenda does it.

Dual standards eh what.

Amazing. "What search criteria did you use"? wink.png

Silly me, looking for convictions for things like the airport occupation or the government house, and all I came up with was this...

http://thaipolitical...e-airport-saga/

which was pretty clear that the investigation for the airport occupation in 2008 is still on-going, where as 50 red shirts have been enjoying free lodging (no, sorry, this room doesn't come with bail) since mid-2010.

BTW, the PAD were released on bail over a year ago. Did you come across any information since?

Which is still newer that the Red Shirt Leaders being charged with leading a riot injuring hundreds in 2007 and is still on-going

It's also funny that you nauseatingly attempt to demolish The Nation's credibility at ever turn... but then eagerly accept its validity if it appears to back up your own view on a solitary issue.

Still, the Red Riot of 2007 and PAD and the airport closure are NOT the topic so to save mods from the inevitable removing of more off-topic commentary, we should limit discussion to the Arisaman topic.

It needs no help from me on that (nauseatingly giggle.gif ). I'd quote the bangkok post at you if I could. Will you for once apologise and admit that you were wrong?

You and your cheerleaders seem to think you can ride roughshod all over this board accusing people of being liars, misinformed, pathetic, brainwashed etc just because they dare have a different opinion to yours and theirs. If I make a mistake, I admit to it, amongst the usual braying of the pack.

I point out that you have tried to mislead (you obviously don't make mistakes so it can only have been an attempt to mislead) people and all I get is you pleading to the mods.

Man up for once.

Thanks for catching that. I don't see Bucholtz posts unless they get quoted.

This is just another example of B's taking a normal comment and trying to push it (further) off-topic.

Cheers!
