Cool...that's pretty conclusive information

Soapy massage for 60miilion...must be pretty impressive...don't recall seeing it.

In fairness it's a pretty awsome building, the entrance hall and ballroom are bigger than most hotels alone, if operated by a major hotel chain I expect they could make the place good. I'm always a bit sceptical about the market for big hotels in Phuket Town though?

Agree it's too big for the current Phuket Town (City) hotel market, though it could do well as either a whole or partial conversion to apartments which seem to be selling well at the moment in Phuket Town particularly.

Royal Phuket City make good money, they catering to mostly asian tourists so why could not Thavorn do this to?

Exactly, it's about volume. Sure, if there was an absolute guarantee about putting 4 or 5 hundred Chinese into a 2 star hotel in the middle of Phuket Town, and fleets of buses taking them on their 7 or 10 daily excursions, no problem. Oh, and are you sure that RPC make good money?

rpc cant even afford a decent restaurant. cmon.

but still they get quite a few chinese tour contracts, there niche is asians customers not westerners..

Yes, but they're the 'lucky dip' (a XX* star hotel in Phuket) type customer. Sad buffet meals, a gym for those who don't know better, and an outside cafe with possible the highest CO2 quantity of any external hotel/restaurant in Phuket. Ideally placed near the bus station...........

High CO2 levels are not an issue anywhere outdoors. Small particles which come from old engines are.

Our atmosphere has CO2 level of 390 ppm (parts per million). Polluted place could have some more, but not much. When we normally breath, the exhale gas has 40.000 - 50.000 ppm of CO2 (4-5%).

Sure there is a big market there.

You're all thinking out of a western perspective, calling the asian market a niche market? And looking down on it? Way bigger than any European market, and growing steadily. That's where even more money will be made in the future.
