edwardandtubs
Why is the price of sunlady cantaloupe so much less that other cantaloupes? Or for that matter why are standard cantaloupe prices so expensive?
gamini
most of them taste like cucumber and there is very little difference between the cheap one and the expensive ones. If they have a strong sweet smell they should be tasty if not they are tasteless. To make them edible I put sugar and lime on them!
MANICMINER
All the cantaloupe type melons you buy in the major supermarkets (i.e big c and tesco lotus) taste of nothing. If you go to the supermarkets in the Large shopping malls, they sell japanese melons, and they are much nicer, especially if you buy them at the right time, but they cost three times as much. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for!
edwardandtubs
Those Japanese melons (the ones with the pretty pattern on the skin) are also often labelled cantaloupe and are available in Big C but I really couldn't detect much difference in taste or texture. Disappointing considering the price was 4 times higher.
