Exposure To Chronic Noise Effects Memory

Found this on Google recently, thought it would be of interest to some of you, especially teachers and parents with young children.

Noise and Memory

Thailand is a VERY noisy country, and as we all know, its virtually impossible to find a quiet place. There's always going to be an old air-con grinding away in the background, or traffic noises, or some f'%&@#*'ing loudspeaker blaring away, or some country band yodeling out some songs for a wedding party.

Looks like it might actually have an impact on the ability of kids to learn and remember things.

Maybe we should translate stuff like this and post it around our neighborhoods to help educate people about the damage they are doing to their kids (beyond simple hearing loss, of course).
