Low Temperatures

Featured Replies

Night time temperatures in Bangkok are hitting 20 C or below. I have a 10 month old Golden Retriever which stays outside in a metal dog house. Should I be concerned and bring her inside now or can she handle lower temperatures?

Unless your retriever gets wet, I doubt very much the temperatures here get low enough to make a dog uncomfortable outside. The dog should at least have a mat or carpet to lay on, my dog won't sleep on a ceramic floor.

Chihuahua owners be warned, these ugly little creatures will shake even though it's 30 degrees outside.

Hey Penzman, I think the OP asked about a dog being outside, I don't think he needed to see a picture of that rat :o:D:D

our dogs are out in snow/rain sleet and desert heat etc 24/7/365 as they are farm dogs, they each have a house built off the ground no blanket etc but wooden flooring

in winter fed twice daily with high protein (rabbits/chickens and good dog food)

... if your dogs are always outside, and getting fed appropriately, and have shelter from wind and damp, then they should be ok... if they are mostly indoor dogs, then it is a problem as they dont build up their coats although 20 (celsus?) in bangkok is not cold for a dog especially a healthy golden retriever... only those hairless things have problems...

usually heat stroke etc is more of a concern to any dog owner....
