Thanks sorry for the inconvienence

For simple phrases you can do a lot worse than 'Google Translate' - by no means perfect but usually good enough for basic communication.

It translates as "You come back as well." But if he does not read Thai how is he going to know how to say it? I don't think google does phonetic translations of Thai do they? A Thai English language dictionary gives you kun maa keun nee chen gan. No, I think he did the right thing asking on TV.

Off topic posts removed. Left it in General too long obviously. wink.png

Google translate is crap. Thai2English is much better and that's just the free version, I bought the software and it is one of the best I have ever had. I can't be bothered with a Thai keyboard it just takes me so long so I type in phonetic Thai and copy and paste into emails.

I was actually referring to the next occasion when he needed a quick translation. He can hardly post on Thai Visa each time.

Google Translate provides a phonetic translation as well as a 'spoken' translation. So you get Thai language, phonetic and oral. Just hit the buttons in the right hand corner.

Whether it is crap or not is another matter, but it can work OK- ish on a very basic level.

I didn't know that, thanks. I always just got the written Thai.

I realised that you need to be a bit more precise about what your actual meaning is

''Are you coming tonight as well?''

The above assumes by "as well" you mean "together with someone else"

Do you mean that the person is already at a place and you are asking if he/she will be coming back to the same place again (returning)

You also have to be clear that you do actually mean "come". Some English people will often use "come" when they should really be using "go". ie. "I'm going to the club tonight, are you coming?"

Hi

What I mean is:

Are you coming tonight as well as in

are you going to [a certain place] as well

For example: are you coming/going tonight the the club as well

But I dont want to use club/bar or something like that but just more like '' hey you coming as well''

I suck at explaining it but hopefully you will get what I mean

I appreciate your help a lot

Thank you very much

So you should use the Thai word for go, bpai

อยากไปกับเราด้วยได้ไหม

Yak bpai gup rao duay mai?

Would you like to go with us? (Substitute Pom for rao if would you like to go with me)

อยากไปไหม

Yak bpai mai?

Simply Do you want to go?

Many thanks!

Than one more little think:

Would you like to go with us tonight?

How will that be than?

Thank you very much!

Would you like to go with us tonight?

คุณอยากไปกับเราคืนนี้ไหม or

คุณอยากไปด้วยกันกับเราคืนนี้ไหม

This would actually mean more like "Would you like to go together with us tonight?"

While the first would mean more like "Would you like to tag along with us tonight?"
