I'm in the process of starting online hotel reservation system, and looking

for experianced person with back ground in the same field and/or with good techincal skills and knowledgeable about thailand toursim industry

I would also appericate members with handful of tips for further discustion

here for enhancing this project

I have good knowledge about Thai tourism destinations, all kind of statstics

places of intersts and activites, but lack online techincal skills and not much

about legal issues concering startup

My tuppence worth.

This is an already saturated market with many of the competition going back years ie I first booked with Planetholiday back in 98.

Sawadee has been going year as have Res24 as well as a host of others.

What is your USP?

How and Why will your site be a better experience for users?

I think it would be better to link into one of these existing booking systems rather than start your own - they pay you commission and have the deals already set up with the hotels.

To do this though you need content to attract people to your site - a simple booking site has nothing to distinguish it from the other already established sites.

There are a lot of places though that are not bookable over the net - this could be a market to go for but it would require a lot of work on your part to contact them and arrange booking etc.

Then again though these tend to be the lower end of the market and commissions will not be much.

Im sorry not to offer you any confidence but this business is already domminated and even if you have a good idea the big guys will most likely drown you out with their $100,000 a month advertising budgets and what not
