I was just wondering if anyone has tried the new USB/SD readers available for

the Galaxy Tab?

Many are very inexpensive now...like $5 for many 5in1 types or the usb/sd types

I recently picked one up off ebay

While the USB port works fine the SD port is a hair too small for my Fuji camera card.

But then again I have read that Fuji cards called XD are slightly larger.

Yet it has always fit fine in my laptops card reader slot.

Just curious if other have tried the various versions.

Samsung has their own too but 5-6 times the price

of the China/Taiwan made ones.

I got mine when I bought at the expo, it's samsung original and works great. Only problem is cannot charge and use at the same time. Coming back to a hotel after using all day means I have to charge before watching a couple of episodes of Spartacus, Broadwalk Empire and Masterchef!

No allshare on the tab means I have to stream through a network share at home, which I prefer to using the usb and worrying about the charge.

Used the card reader once to view photos taken at a wedding and then share with friends / guests via bluetooth.

Thanks yes I just got a reply from the seller too & the problem is Fuji's XD card

For some reason they use to make them slightly bigger than standard SD cards.

No problem as the price was so low & the USB section works fine.

Also I see my SD micro sim also fits in the slot.

Don't know why Fuji decided to be different although that camera is quite a few years old now.

I bought the Samsung Kit from a small counter shop in MBK for ~ 450 THB, the Sandisk SD carrier/uSD card I have is from a separate purchase. All work well with my GT-7510, which I did buy on eBay; $360.

No allshare on the tab means I have to stream through a network share at home, which I prefer to using the usb and worrying about the charge.

That is a very good price for the Samsung readers

Here in the US they run about 1000 THB / $30 USD

I will grab one when I get there next month

This $5 one is ok but sooo flimsy plastic

was removed from the Thailand version and used to crash often when loading from apk. Now we have Allshare Player which came on Feb 1. i can stream from tablet to tv but not from tv to tablet - i think that's a series 6 issue...

prefer Bubble UnP and MX Player combo for streaming to tablet, faster, more robust and plays MKV files w/out skipping or losing audio..

Cheers will look it up. Pretty much happy with home set up but wouldn't mind ability to watch tv on tab.... May go the slingbox route...
