April 13, 201214 yr My friend just bought a Galaxy Note. In the shop, they set up with Gmail for him, and he asked me to set up his company account. The company account needs to be set up as IMAP (preferrably) or POP. The server is not a Microsoft Exchange server, as I know the sysad uses only Linux. I can set up email for Microsoft Exchange, Google, and Samsung Mail. Does anybody know how to set up a normal POP or IMAP account? Screenshot of Settings / Add account (I took it with my iPhone and apologize for the quality):
April 13, 201214 yr Use the email app (not the settings/accounts), you can configure a private mail account in there. Posted with Thaivisa App http://apps.thaivisa.com Edited April 13, 201214 yr by Crushdepth
April 15, 201214 yr Author Thank you! We are now overseas, and I don't want to incur international roaming charges for him. I'll try this when we are back, next weekend.
April 21, 201214 yr Author Thanks to the video, I could now set up the email. The trick was that I had to tap on the existing email account's name and then activate the menu by tapping at the bottom to get access to "Add Account". Who would have thunk. Thank you for your help!
