@4evermaat.

Wife always has to be present when going for extension of stay (First time and subsequent times) based on Marriage, don't leave the door without her then. Other times up 2 you biggrin.png

Witness is only necessary the first time you apply (In Pattaya that is, don't know about the other Immigration Offices)

This all seems like a major headache to be honest.

We have 2 children together, so I assume this will help our 'case'

. Just to add to marios list. If you have children they will probably need to see the birth certificates also. I get a married visa each year, have kids and they always ask for copies?

A misquote with false information removed - there is no requirement for the money to be seasoned for conversion to non immigrant visa entry - only for the actual extension of stay if using bank deposit only.

That is exactly what I required, I got my first marriage visa/extension this way last month at pattaya immigration. No witness required, no home visit, it was more of an informal chat with the wife rather than a structured interview. You also require 2 copies of every document and the patience of a saint to put up with rudeness of the 2 female immigration officers, apart from that I was amazed at how simple and cheap it was.

A lot of people make it out to be more complex than it really is.

The basics are above but different offices will have their own different slants on it.
