Mexico: Six university students killed in school bus accident 2012-04-13 21:43:33 GMT+7 (ICT) MEXICO CITY (BNO NEWS) -- Six university students were killed on Thursday when a trailer truck crashed into a school bus on a highway near the Mexican capital of Mexico City, local authorities said on Friday. Nearly two dozen others were injured.The accident happened on Thursday when the trailer truck, which was carrying 30 tons (60,000 pounds) of wheat, crashed into a school bus belonging to the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). The bus was carrying a group of 36 economy students and three professors from the country's largest and most important university.The deadly collision occurred at the kilometer 41 marker of the Mexico City-Toluca highway in the municipality of Ocoyoacac, which borders Mexico City. Mexico's Citizen Security Ministry confirmed six students were killed while 22 others were reported injured, many of whom are in a critical condition.The State of Mexico Red Cross said it airlifted twelve students from the scene and transported them to hospitals in Toluca, the state capital. Although the cause of the accident was not immediately known, police arrested 26-year-old truck driver Rafael 'N' on suspicion of causing the accident. An investigation is continuing, and other details were not released as of Friday. tvn.png
