April 13, 201214 yr Hi i wonder if someone can help me? I came to Thailand on a 60 day tourist visa which runs out tomorrow, im due to go back to england on may 1st . i was hoping to get a visa extention from iimmigration office but was closed when i went today. do i have any other options apart from doing a visa run? any help very much appreciated Thank you
April 13, 201214 yr You can wait until they reopen on the 17th and apply for an extension then, there will be no overstay charges, but it will be mobbed. A visa run will only get you 15 days since it is by land.

April 13, 201214 yr Author am i correct in thinking If you visit on first working day after holiday there will not be any overstay charges and extension can take place normally? really dont want to sit 10 hours in a minibus if i dont have to.
April 13, 201214 yr worse case scenario is they charge you 1500 baht for overstay but unlikely if first day opening because of holiday.
April 14, 201214 yr You won't be charged overstay as long as you do it on the first day that they are open after the holiday.
April 14, 201214 yr per above. No overstay charge if you visit first day they are open again (Tuesday). Extension will cost 1,900 baht plus passport size photo and it is going to be very busy, so go early (before they open).
