soidog2 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I have an almost square 5 rai piece with mango trees on it, I would like to switch to rubber trees. There are two wells at opposite ends with enough water for year round irrigation. Trying to get an idea of what investment is needed for drip irrigation to cover the entire piece. What size pumps, pvc & tubing, etc. Thank you.
rice555 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Hello soidog2, if it's fairly flat like I have, a 1" pump and 1" HDPE is what I use with driptape on 3 rai. If using LDPE for your runs and PC dripper or PC mini sprinklers, most suppliers have tables on distance/flow ratios. www.metzerplas.com has a planing program you can D/L to design your system. I don't know if Netafim has the same thing, but there product Cat gives ratios. www.netafim.com Most all the different Co's products are in the same league. You could take some pictures and your figures and go to Hortasia 2012 show and see what a sales rep comes up with. rice555
