Hi and thank you for trying to help me.

Both repeaters show a full signal and the one for the phones does appear to be working as when it is switched off the phones show no signal bars. Try a call and it says "emergency calls only" Turn it on and they show a strong signal but don't work. Just get 3 beeps when trying a call but it is different to when turned off so something is happening.

Both the repeaters look identical from the outside but am loath to switch them as don't want to risk any damage to my internet signal which as I say is working well from I think the same tower as the yagis are pointed in the same direction.

The phones used to be able to connect so wonder if AIS have changed anything recently that screws up repeaters.

If the GSM980 repeater is functioning it may be that AIS has modified their equipment on that tower. though this doesn't explain why your GSM980 repeater displays a usable signal from the Yagi.

Are any of your phones android based? Can you download "Network Signals" by KA|BITS Software and see what network properties it detects?

The phones are just normal run of the mill mobiles so can't track signals.

I played around with the yagi ariel yesterday and suprisingly got good signals even pointing it in totally different directions but still not able to make a call. Will try again variations today and see if I get lucky.

If all else fails can I get a phone that works of the true move signal I use for my internet?

DTAC and TrueMove H operates GSM service on 850 MHz

AIS GSM service is on 900 MHz).

If the phone operates in the 850 band then a TrueMove H SIM should work with the other repeater.

Thanks for your help.

Yesterday moved everything around in to different places and found one that allowed me to make calls but only sometimes!!!

Very strange but if I persist think will get there in the end.
