Is The 1 Year Non-Imm B Extension A Multi Entry?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am scheduled to get my non-imm B 1 year extension and work permit this week. But I am wondering if I am able to leave Thailand once I get the visa. I don't work for 2 months over the summer holiday and I would like to do some traveling but I have read that if you leave Thailand with the non-imm B and wp, you need to have them cancelled or have some kind of letter from the school that allows you to leave, have some kind tax form from the school and then you need to start the entire process over again when you reenter.

I am not leaving permanently nor am I quitting my job, I just want to be able to travel during the summer break.

Is this possible or am I stuck in thailand for the entire year?

With a 12 month extension you need a re entry permit when exiting the country.

1,000 Baht for a single and 3,800 for a multi.

Apply when you visit Immigration for your extension.

Not exactly. I have my 1 year non-B and WP and my visa is an multiple entry one when it was issued.

When I leave the country I don't need a re-entry. Just let know at immigration that you leave the country and come back at the specific date. That's all

Well in my case it is coz I'm not working as a teacher over here.

Working as a teacher or not has nothing to do with it. What is imporant is if you have an extension of stay or a valid multiple non-B visa.

It appears the OP has a 12 month extension of stay, not a Visa.

It appears that you have a Multi Entry Non Imm B Visa.

I could be wrong though.

Well indeed I have a valid NON-B multiple entry.

And as a matter of fact, my visa is expiring 2 months later than my work permit.

Got an extra two months coz my former NON-B only expires at 9 june this year

Yes, you are correct. I have a one year extension.

If you leave the country your permission to stay finishes.

Unless you get a Re Entry Permit.

A single costs 1,000 Baht and a Multiple costs 3,800 Baht.

If you intend leaving 3 times or less singles would be cheaper.

If more than 3 times a Multi would work out cheaper.

The Re Entry Permit keeps your stay alive, it does not add time.

Thanks, that was what I needed to know.
