New to this board so Hi. Spent a year in thailand in 2010 but im back in the USA but while there i made some friends and one of them is here taking classes for his IETLS and of course we are scheming. He/his family has a factory in thailand but he is looking to get into the export/import business and is thinking about car parts Jeeps, american v8's that stuff. Im sure there is a market for it but i can't find much info on taxes, going rates for the engines all of that. Was just wondering if any of you would have any good sources as all my google searching is coming up with nothing.

Its illegal to import used cars and import body part but i have not read anything about importing car parts as illegal

you can import car parts, no problem! Having said that, some parts require an import license by the Thai Industrial Standard Institute Check with your forwarder

I thought the ban was on parts as well as vehicles. Maybe I am wrong.
