News_Editor Posted April 24, 2012 Share Posted April 24, 2012 An adviser to Burmese President Thein Sein says the government plans to amend a law concerning the registration of local and international non-government organizations, according to a report by The Myanmar Times. “The government wants to increase cooperation with NGOs … [and] intends to loosen restrictions gradually,†presidential adviser Dr Nay Zin Latt said last week. According to Ministry of Home Affairs statistics, 280 domestic groups had registered as of the end of last year.
