Single Entry B-Visa / Employment

Featured Replies

Hi,

This is my first post on this forum so hello to everyone!

A quick question regarding B-visa and employment... I hope this makes sense!?

Basically I moved to Phuket towards the middle of March to start a new job over here, I arrived on a 2 entry tourist visa for which I have one more entry left if needed. I did a visa run to Malaysia a few weeks ago with all the company documents etc to get a B-Visa (single entry 3month visa)... my company was in the process of sorting out my Work Permit and lengthening my B-visa to 12 months.

My dilema is that recent developments (financial) within the company have led me to question the security of my role (especially as I am on a 3 month probabtionary period as well) and I am interested to learn how it would work regarding visas if I was to seek employment elsewhere. Is the B visa linked to my place of work or can I look to find employment elsewhere as long as I stay in the validity of my B visa? Do I need to leave the country again to get a different visa?

Any help would be appreciated as I don't have a clue regarding Thai visa procedures.

Many thanks,

Rick

You can look for other employment on your current 90 day entry.

"I arrived on a 2 entry tourist visa for which I have one more entry left if needed."

Don't count on that. It should have been canceled when you got the B Visa.
