New Non Immigrant 'B'

Featured Replies

I have a work permit that expires in December but my Non Immigrant 'B' visa expires in June. The company that does the accounts and tax returns for my employer have said they may not be ready to present documents by June so can I go to the UK to obtain a new visa?

My question is, is there an embassy in the region where I can get a new one year visa by presenting my work permit without requiring the full package of documents?

It is my understanding that companies in Thailand often file accounts for the same fiscal year period of Jan 1 - Dec 31, with tax calculated/filed plus all independant audits done by the 1st of May of the following year.

Thai and foreign companies carrying on business in Thailand are required by law to file their tax returns (Form CIT 50) within one hundred and fifty (150) days from the closing date of their accounting periods.

So if for some legitimate reason they don't have the accounts ready for '54 - '55, then the most recent figures i.e. '53 - '54 (the previous year's accounts/tax records) can be produced.

So they really should be filing by the end of May for 54/55 ending December 31st?

At the latest, if that is their accounting period.

So in this case, it is my understanding that there should be new accounts/signed audits/tax paid, etc available for June.

If this is a new company they will not have tax records so extensions of stay would not be available and only option new visa. Without more than six months remaining on work permit most Consulates in region will only issue single entry visa and still require full company paperwork as listed on MFA website.

You can do another entry the day before your visa expires and get another 90 day permit to stay. I would think that 90 days would be enough time for them to get paperwork together.

Only if he has a valid multi entry visa - many posters equate expiration of visa to current permitted to stay stamp.
