Phnom Penh Embassy, Nearby Hotels

Featured Replies

Looking for recommendations of hotels near the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh..........

Also any info on requirements for multi-entry "O" visa, is it possible there ? I will be working intermittently in Cambodia and have family ("wife" and son) in Thailand. Can show employment contract requiring multiple visits, Thai son's birth certificate (but no marriage certificate), money in the bank, etc. That has sufficed before for multi-entry "O" in Hanoi and Colombo, but how strict is Phnom Penh ?

I stayed here once. 900m (half a mile) walking distance to the Royal Thai Embassy.

"Near" is measured in tuk-tuk dollars. Three will get you there from anywhere near the river, which is where you want to stay anyway. Five for round-trip is negotiable, or less, depending on where you start.

It's much too hot to walk much further than a few blocks...

Don't think you'll have much luck now with multi-entry visas of ANY kind - new sheriff in town. There appears to be a policy encouraging the use of a middleman - in our recent case, the security guard outside the embassy, who will probably retire to Beverly Hills on what he's making for getting these visas - and even HE said no multi-entry Tourist visas, as did one of the better-known travel agencies who used to do them. I have since heard that they don't do any multi-entry visas there anymore, but it's only hearsay. Hopefully someone with recent non-O experience will weigh in...
