Hi all, will be coming over for a 6/9 month taster in early Aug, was wondering if i need a return ticket and to show bank account details etc??? am 45 yo and an Australian passport holder will be applying for a double/triple tourist visa have the funds just wondering........cheers ;)

If you have a valid visa, you don't need a return ticket. Officially there is a requirement to have money on you to enter on a visa (20K for a tourist IIRC), but in airports this is never enforced. When activating your second / third entry from a neighboring country you may be asked to show money occasionally.

Thanks for your quick response, so when i apply for the visas they will not require evidence of flight ticket(s) ????? also when before the date would be a suitable time approx to apply??? cheers

It depends on which consulate you apply as to required proof of onward travel. Apply just a few days before departure, you must make all entries before the visa validity date expires, usually 90 days for single entry and can be 6 months for double or triple entry.

Others have posted here that applying for the visa at an honorary consulate is an easier process with more likely approval so you may want to look into that as well.
