Visa B: Single To Multiple Entries

Featured Replies

Hi !

I'm entering Thailand with a visa non immigrant type B, single entry as they all are (as far as I understood...).

How do I do to get a multiple entries instead of a single one ? Where can I do that in Bangkok ? What paper do I need ?

I'm leaving Thailand for a short overseas trip 20 days after my entry, will it give me enough time to get a multiple entries visa ?

Thank you for your assistance,

Rom

You won't get a multi-entry in Thailand unless you qualify for a one year extension of stay and apply for a multi re-entry permit.

Also, if you enter with your single entry, the permission to stay will be void upon departure unless you obtain a re-entry permit.

It greatly deends on where you will apply for a non-B. You would need a work permit for a multiple non-B in the region, to say the least.

Here is the list of required documents to get a One year Multiple Entry Non Immigrant Type B Visa at Thai Consulates in the SE Asia Region:

You will certainly need 2.1 Item 6 (Work Permit) to get the One Year Multiple entry Visa.

The Work Permit is applied for by your Thai Employer and it may well take some time to obtain.

If you do not get a re-entry Permit before leaving Thailand then your Non B Status and original 90 day Stay Until date will be will be lost, unless you are successful in getting the One Year Multiple Entry Non B Visa.

There is a process to get a one year Extension of Permission to Stay without leaving Thailand, but again this depends on support from your your employer/company status/tax records and you will again 100% need a Work Permit.
