1 Million Baht robbery behind South Pattaya Road Market

PATTAYA:--Two shops were broken into in Soi 17 close to the Chaimongkol Market in South Pattaya late on Saturday Night.

An attempted break-in at a third shop was also made but actual entry to the premise could not be made. All three shops, a Pharmacy, A Watch repair shop and a Gold Shop were targeted by a gang who entered through the roof of the Watch Repair Shop. Entry to the Pharmacy was not successful but items were stolen from the other two shops.

One gold necklace worth 25,000 Baht was taken from the Watch Repair shop and one hundred Buddhist Amulets valued at over 250,000 Baht, a basket full of precious stones, a laptop computer and 200,000 Baht in cash was taken from the Gold Shop with a combined value of over 1 Million Baht. The assailants covered security cameras with jackets although this was deemed unnecessary by Police who were told by the shop owners that the security cameras were not plugged in.
